God sent us an angel in Cynthia M. Jones born to the late Helen and George Jones on June 10, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Cynthia claimed her wings on May 24, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones after a lengthy illness at Maryland General Hospital.

Cynthia, affectionately known as "Sippy" attended St. Peter Claver Catholic School and continued her education through the Baltimore City Public School System.

Sippy met and married the love of her life, Dergie Van Johnson and from this union, their daughter Ashley was born.

Sippy worked at Cashbox where she did what she enjoyed ... talking trash and playing the lottery.

Sippy enjoyed cooking, frying and eating crabs. She knew how to work the aluminum foil at a cookout! Sippy loved playing cards and the trash talking that went along with it. Some of her favorite movies were, King Kong, Charms and Lion King. Sippy could watch them over and over again. Favorite sayings "You look right dapper" and "respect my ganster!"

Everyone loved Sippy. She was so full of life and will truly be missed. We all have wonderful stories that we can tell and wonderful memories.

She leaves to cherish: 2 sons, Lee Smith III and Kevin Powell; 1 daughter, Ashley Johnson; adopted son, Jordan; 12 grand- children, Siani, Shaquille also preceded in death, Darylisha, Lamonta, Janay, Keon, Kiyonna, Kenya, Kevin Jr., Dergie Johnson, De'Veon and Daniel; 2 sisters, Jacqueline Robinson- El and Helen Jones; 2 brothers-in-law, Darryl Johnson-Bey and Bernard Jones Jr.; 1 brother, Kariem Yoomus; 7 nephews, Ronald W., Neville, Bernard III, George III, Ronald R., Marco and Tobis; 1 niece, Angela Ward; godmother, Lilian Hopkins; goddaughters/niece, Shanell Smith, and Christian Queen; 4 aunts, Lilian Hopkins, Alice Pitts, Paulette Chapman and Doris Hawkins; 2 uncles, William Hawkins and James Pitts Sr.; V.I.P. secial friend, Patricia Howard; special friends, Tarsha Smith, Tannika Smith and Vanessa Burgess and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
