D. Lucille Bergman, daughter of the late Thomas L. and Daisy Pear- son, was born December 19, 1943 in Waverly, Virginia before moving to Bal- timore, Maryland. She departed this life July 7, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Lucille received her degree of higher education at Morgan State College. She served many years as a teacher; later becoming a highly recognized principal in the Baltimore County School District, where she retired. Music had always been Lucille's first love and a part of her life; she formed a fami- ly gospel group consisting offive brothers and her sister. The group traveled all around Maryland performing concerts. She later formed another group, "Holy Vessels"; her commitment to helping this group reach its potential led Lucille to relocate to Georgia. Even though she knew no one in Georgia, she trusted God. The community Lucille moved into opened their arms to wel- come her and loved her dearly. Her talent for music was always precise and on key. Lu, as everyone called her, made several CDs; there was one that was dedicated to her sister, Thomasina, they were extremely close. Lu always showed love and shared with everyone the trait that she learned from her mom. She kept her promise to her mom, which was that she would take care of the family, no matter what, and keep them together. Lu loved her dog Lor- rie; that was her life line. Lu was never short for words, whatever was on her mind she would tell you. She had no problem letting you know. If you were out of key she wasn't having it! I Precision and order was her middle name. Lu married and birthed into this world two wonderful sons, Aaron and Daryl. Even though she only got to see a photo of her first grandson, she was looking forward to being Grandma; her wish was to at least hold on long enough to see him. Lu made numerous friends in Lawrenceville and they all loved her and stuck by hf!'r until the end; from the great neighbor, to the vet that took care of Lorrie and the Publix Pharmacy. Lu leaves behind: two sons and daughters-in-law, Aaron and Susan; Daryl, Katrina and newborn grandson, Orion; brothers, Andrew, John (Lee), Wil- liam, James, and Isiah, whom she called Ike. Her dear mother, Daisy, broth- ers, Joe, Paul, Waverly, and sister, Thomasina preceded her in death, yet we know she can't wait to see them again. She leaves a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and sisters-in-law, Charity and Evelyn. A host of friends, Charlotte, Vera, Caroline, Helen, Donna, Virginia, and especially, Theresa and her husband Allen. Lucille's friends were God sent during her illness; the lives she touched loved her dearly. Funeral Service First Baptist Church
