My name is DaLontae Harper, and I was here! My sun rose on November 9, 1993 and set on January 12,2014. While I was here, I was one of four apples of my mother's eyes. I was a son, a brother, a nephew, a father, and a friend. I attended Frederick Douglass and Forest Park High School, where I ended my public school career. While I was here, I enjoyed riding dirt bikes, drawing, playing basketball, and listening to music. If my friends were to describe .me, they would say I was overprotective, silly, loyal, and most importantly real. Through thick and thin, I loved the people in my circle. It was not my plan to leave everyone so soon, but know that although I am not here in the flesh, I am with each and every one of you in spirit. So I guess, in many ways, I am still here. I am, however, where I was called to be. I am now with my grandmother, Carolyn, my uncle Damon, and my cousin, Kwame. To my mother DuEwa, I ask that you be strong. To Jordan, Monae, and Donta, I ask that you keep me in your heart and do things that make a difference. To my special friend Diamond, I ask that you continue to raise our beautiful daughter Ziyon, and find a way to be a friend to someone else, like I was a friend to you. And to my host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends, please hold my parents, sisters and brother up, and encourage them when you see the hurt in their faces. Remind them ...
