Daniel Blount Jr. BKA D.B., son of the late Daniel and Mary Blount was born on February 12, 1926 in Washington, NC He departed this life on June 19, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Daniel was educated in Washington, NC School Systems. He then went into the United States Army from 1945-1947. Daniel earned an honorable discharge and he received a World War II Victory Medal in 1947. He married the late Artimisse Blount in 1947, this union produced five children, Joyce Pierce, Linda Blount, Barbara Blount, Gregory Blount and Michael. Daniel was proceeded in death by two children, Barbara and Mi- chael, four brothers and two sisters. Daniel moved to Baltimore in 19 51. He worked for the City of Balti- more as aforeman (grounds crew) for the Baltimore City School Systems and Parks and Recreations. He retired after 35 years with the City and then picked up a part time job with Broadway Services for another 18 years. Daniel remarried in 1986 to Lois Blount who also proceeded him in death. He leaves to mourn: his daughter, Joyce Pierce and Linda Blount; one son, Gregory; son-in-law, William Pierce; three stepdaughters, Joanna Kelley, Georgia Gatling and Amanda Lukas; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He also leaves three sisters, Rosabell Smith of Norfolk, VA, Julia Mae Blount of Washington, NC and Martha Langley of Washington, NC Daniel had a special relationship with Latisha English, Latyra Brown, Rick Rawlings and Daniel Kelley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
