Darlene Linda Alston, born to Marion Grant and Melvin Alston, Sr. on June 3, 1961, departed this life after a lengthy illness. Darlene was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. Darlene accepted Christ at a young age at New Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Harold A. Carter, Sr. Darlene rededicater her life to Christ in 2006, at the Liberty Grace Church of God under the leadership of the late Pastor Eunice M. King. Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family, she loved to laugh and crack jokes. She will surely be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by; her mother, Marion Grant; her father, Melvin Alston, Sr.; stepfather, Samuel Grant, Jr.; two daughters Latia Sparkman and Nicole Williams; son, Arnold Brown, Sr.; granddaughter, De-Ja; and two grandsons, Shawen and Rodney; two brothers, Hassan, Melvin, Jr. and four sisters, Karen, Renee, Cynthia and Marcella; one sister-in-law, three brothers-in-law a host of other relatives and friends.
