Obituary

Darlene Luckey Baker, daughter of the Late William Luckey and Almenia Luckey was born August 28, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland. She Departed this life suddenly on March 25, 2014. Darlene receidved her education at Southern High School where she earned her high school diploma. She went on to attend Morgan State University where she studied music with the late Nathan Carter. She worked for the Department of Defense for 27 years as an Executive Administrative Assistant. Darlene gave her life to Christ at an early age when she attended James Tabernacle Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Willie R. Bugess Sr. She enjoyed traveling, retreats, church conventions, and singing praises unto God. Upon leavink James Tabernacle, she and her family became active members of Freedom Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Bryant K. Martin where she continued lifting up the name of the Lord. Darlene became the matriarch of the family after the passing of her mother. She made sure the family continkued to celebrate birthdays, game night and family gatherings. She loved shopping for clothes and shoes, which is how she obtained the name "Darlene Bhee Fab Luckey". Darlene is survived by her husband Nathaniel Baker Jr.; two sons, Nathaniel Baker III of North Carolina and Devin Baker; on daughter-in-law Latifa Baker; one grand-daughter Madison Baker; four brothers Henry, William, Edward and George Luckey; three sisters Willianette Luckey, Getty Avery and Rita McKay; father-in-law Nathaniel Baker Sr.; mother-in-law Peggy Bakr; five brother-in-laws Donell Avery, James McKay, Kennett & Anthony Baker and Jearl Ward; five sister-in-laws Mary & Betty Luckey, Laura Allen, Jessica Ward and Della Baker; Godmother Mary Weathers and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
