Darnell Gerrard Gaither, son of the late Clement Gaither and Shirley Watson, was born on July 3, 1972 in Baltimore, Maryland. His life was taken suddenly on February 8, 2007. Darnell was educated in the Baltimore City Public System, graduating from Walbrook High School in 1990. At Walbrook he was a member of the varsity basketball team. It was at Walbrook that Darnell met and fell in love with LaTarcha Murphy. They were united in marrige on November 19, 1994. Two sons were born from this union, Stepfen and Darnell Jr. The marriage ended after ten years. In 2005, Darnell met his present companion, Carlethia Langston; sweet baby Madyson is a result of their love. Darnell loved all types of sports and was an avid spectator. Combining his affection for sports and youth, Darnell coached little league football and basketball in different recreation centers in the Baltimore area. Darnell also loved to play dominoes, pinochle and to eat. Most of all he loved his family, especially his sisters and his boys. Recently, he fathered a daughter who was the apple of his eye. When Darnell entered a room, his presence was immediately known not of his big stature, but becauses of his good-natured playfulness and sense of humor. No matter how bad you were feeling, Darnell could always lift your spirits with some all-in-one insulting comment to make you laugh. There is no doubt, Darnell will be missed. Darnell leaves to cherish his memory: his sons, Stepfen and Darnell Jr.; daughter, Madyson; six sisters, Denise Drake, Victoria Watson, Diane Watson, Robin Johnson, Druscilla Morrow and Shirley Ikard; brother, Kevin Watson; brother-in-law, Eddie Drake; ex-wife, LaTarcha; a loving companion, Carlethia; special cousin, George Roy; best friends, Eric and Tarbaby; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
