Darnell Richard Johnson, Jr. son of Christine E. Johnson and the late

Darnell R. Johnson was born on September 13, 1966 in Baltimore,

Maryland. He was called home to be with the Lord on July 29,2019 after

a lengthy illness. Preceded in death was his maternal grandmother,

Gertrude Smith and his paternal grandparents, Thomas Johnson and

Alma Johnson.

Darnell grew up in Cherry Hill in Cherrydale Apartments. He graduated

from Polytechnic High School with honors. He attended the University

of Oklahoma for college.

Darnell was employed at Catholic Charities for years until he became

sick. As he became sick and was in the nursing home, his sister Monie

was there with him particularly everyday helping with his health care.

He loved watching TV and shopping on line and listening to music. He

didn't have any children of his own, but he shopped constantly for his

great nephews King and Dwight and also for his favorite niece Nykia

who would take him anywhere or do anything for him.

He leaves to mourn: his mother, Christine; his 6 siblings, Carol, Terri,

Monica, April, Dax and Shanti; two brothers in-laws, Jerome and David

and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
