Daryl C. Stokes, son of the late Winston and Mary Stokes, was born on March 12, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on January 8, 2015 unexpectantly. He received his early education in the Baltimore City Public School System, and went on to receive an AA deg~e from Baltimore City Community College. He worked in the human service field helping youth and families for over 30 years. He was best known for his work with youth at the Board of Child Care and families at DRU/Mondawmin Healthy Families. He could be described as hardworking, caring, demanding, and knoioledgeable. Daryl has one child, Tennille (Stokes) Thomas and two grandchildren, Jaiden and Torrance Thomas. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed watching and playing sports (basketball and football), eating seafood and spending time with his grandchildren. Daryl made numerous friends throughout his life and will be sincerely missed by all who knew him. He was always a true friend. He leaves to mourn: ex-wife, Wanita Wilson; daughter, Tennille Thomas; son-in-law, Ufundi Thomas; grandchildren, Jaiden and Torrance; sisters, Marva Franklin and Kathy Stokes; brothers, Andre Stokes and Gary Stokes; two best friends Kenny and Carlos Smith; cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
