IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David
Simmons
July 23, 1941 – November 1, 2017
DAVID LEE SI M MONS was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 23, 1941 to the late Henry and Annie Lee Simmons. David was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 after a brief illness. David was preceded in death by his brothers Toby, Vernell, Daniel, and Tyrone Simmons and his sister, Geraldine Butler.
David accepted the Lord as his Savior and gave his life to Christ at an early age. David was the second oldest of eight siblings with whom he shared a close bond.
David received his education in Baltimore City Public Schools. He was a hard-working man and a great provider for his family. After working in the contracting industry for over 45 years, David retired and began to enjoy making repairs around his home.
David met Joyce Stewart in 1963 and they were later united in holy matrimony on January 24, 1984. David was a great provider for his family and took immense pride in taking care of his wife and kids. David enjoyed fishing, roller skating, bowling and especially dancing. Those who knew him best would agree that he and his wife were the life of the party.
David leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife Joyce Simmons; three daughters, Angie, Robin and Cindy; two sons, Howard and Kenneth; two sisters, Rebecca (John) McKnight and Irma Simmons. David also leaves a host of other relatives including grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
