Obituary

DAVID WALLACE, son of the late Lucinda Lewis and Charles Wallace, was born on May 21, 1915. He quietly slipped away on July 13, 2013. He was raised in Baltimore, Maryland and educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. He excepted Christ as his personal Saviour at an early age. He served in the United States Army from February 14, 1941 and fought in World War II; being honorably discharged on December 19, 1945. Mr. Wallace married Gladys Dotson (deceased) and from this union David Wallace Sr. was born. He was employed at Alco Engraving of Baltimore, Nevarmar Products and retired from General Electric. In his later years, he married Doris Cousin (deceased). His family then became extended with the welcoming of two step-children, Gordon Cousin and Denise Turner. In October of 2008, his devoted and cherished granddaughter, Michelle Peters, opened her home to "Grandfather" and provided loving care. The interaction that they shared was very special. Grandfather and Michelle enjoyed many wonderful times watching sports, the Nationals and Orioles baseball games. He also enjoyed antagonizing Michelle about her losing Cowboys team, since he was a Ravens fan. Michelle provided him with beautiful outdoor surroundings, where he could sit and enjoy the nature that God created as well as interacting with neighbors. Grandfather provided Michelle with his wisdom, knowledge and all the love he had to give. He was preceded in death by nine siblings, Robert, Charles, Henry, Andrew, Richard, William, Harry, Fielding and Mamie; and a step-brother, Irvin Cook. He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, David Sr.; his devoted daughter-in-law, Jean Wallace; two grandchildren, David Wallace Jr. (Yolanda) and Michelle Peters; two great-grandchildren, David Wallace III (Courtney) and Daniel Wallace; and a great-great-grandchild, Jameair; and a host of other relatives and friends.
