Mrs. Delia Keys Pinkett departed this life on September 20, 2008 at the ripe age of 102 years old after a lengthy stay at Rock Glen Nursing and Rehabiliation Center. Mrs. Pinkett was born in Baker County, Georgia on July 17, 1906 to Kye and Dina Beale. She received her educatiuon in Georgia and moved to Baltimore, Maryland in the 1940's. She later married Joseph E. Pinkett and they resided at 6 Abingdon Avenue for many years. Mrs. Pinkett was preceded in death by her parents Kye and Dina Beale, her husband Joseph E. Pinkett, stepson Morris E. Pinkett and nephew Benny Keys. Delia worked as a cook for many years for private families. She was a faithful member of the Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church, where she was Mother of the Church until her health and age prevented her attendance. She loved the Lord with all of her heart from an early age. She leaves to cherish her memory; five nieces, Johnny Mae of Washington State, Louise Keys of Baltimore, Maryland, an aunt in Florida and two aunts in Georgia; niece-in-law, Willie Mae Keys Bennie; thirteen grandchildren, Laretiner Davis of Petersburg, Virginia, Irlean Pinkett, Charles Pinkett, Leola granddaughter-in-law and Morris Pinkett Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland, Jannie and Evangeline Pinkett of Delaware, Sylvia Keys, Deborah Keys, Delores Keys, Terry Keys, Joseph Keys and Thomas Keys all of Baltimore, Maryland; seventeen great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren; devoted friends, Sarah, Jean and Junior of South Carolina.
