IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Delores C.
Johnson
March 2, 1940 – December 16, 2018
On March 2, 1940, the Late Marie Taylor and Angus Warren White
were overjoyed to welcome their first born, Delores Costella White.
She was later joined by her younger sister, Hortense (Norma) Thomas,
who preceded her in death in 2011.
Delores was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system, and
attended Booker T. Washington and Carver High School.
She was blessed with four children, Anthony Fulmore, Darlene Alsina,
Howard Nelson, and Curtis White. She truly loved her family and was
.always willing to help out. She was there to baby sit, cook, clean, .pick
up kids, go to the doctors and anything else that was needed.
Delores was involved in the church and accepted Christ at a very early
age. She was a member of New Psalmist Baptist Church for over 10
years, and in 2012 she joined Columbia Community Church. She was a
very active member with regular attendance and participation in Bible
Study and the Care and Comfort Group. She was not silenced by her
battle against cancer. She gave an eye opening testimony that defined
her struggles, and showed her level of acceptance and faith was
beyond expectations. She closed by praising the Almighty for bringing
her through it all.
She loved to go to the movies and was a big collector of DVDs of new
and old movies. She had a huge library. She did not mind sharing or
lending out her movies, however, she had you to sign out the movies.
Her daughter, Darlene would always keep the movies longer than
anyone else.
Delores was employed at Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center for 20
years and worked part time Per Diem pool at Spring Grove Hospital
Center for a number of years. She retired from the State of Maryland
in 2000. After retirement she worked as a private duty home care
nurse while also caring for her youngest son Curtis White until his
passing in 2007.
