Delroy L. Smith, Sr., son of the late William and Gertrude Brown Smith, was born on June 9,1957 in Baltimore Maryland. He departed this life on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.

Delroy received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He is well known by people from all walks of life. Even when calling for job references of employers of years gone by, they would always remember him as a good worker and fun to be around. He loved to make people laugh.

One day he heard the Lord Our God call his name and he answered, YES Lord. He served the Lord under the leadership of Pastor Reginald Lawrence. The Lord blessed him with the gift of music, both writing and singing. As a result the Gospel Music Group, "The Sons of Harmony" of Baltimore, MD was formed. They published their CD "Working on the Building" in which he wrote four of the selections himself. The CD is still on the charts today.

Delroy enjoyed reading the Word of God, singing and fishing! Didn't catch anything that could be brought home, but he enjoyed being on the water in the open air.

Affectionately called, Pappa 0, by some of his step children and grandchildren, he married Sandra M.D. Smith on March 20,2004 at New Bethel Christian Community Church and made their home on the West side of Baltimore.

He leaves to mourn: his devoted wife, Sandra M.D.Smith; daughter Courtney Smith; sons Delroy L. Smith, Jr., (Little Delroy) and Darrell Smith; one uncle, Walter Edmonds; sisters, Shirley Ratcliff and Gertrude Smith (Trudy); brother Robert H. Smith, Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends.
