Denise Manning, the daughter of the late Willie West and Emma West, has been called home. Denise Manning was born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. She came to Baltimore, Maryland at a very young age. She attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School and later went on to marry the late Claudie Jones. Time passed and she then married the late Ed Manning. Ms. Manning taught Bible School at the First Baptist Church in Cherry Hill, Maryland. Later on she became a dedicated member of the bibleway First Church, up until she became quite ill and could not go regularly. She enjoyed helping others and gave meaning to her work at Lutheran Hospital up until she retired. Denise leaves behind; two sons, Rev. Lawrence Jones and Keith Manning; one daughter, Gail Alston. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, two sisters, Arlene Smith and Darlene West; one daughter-in-law, Valeria Jones Libby; and a host of other relatives, nephews, nieces and friends.
