Obituary

On Monday, June 10, 2019, the Lord called from labor to

reward one of His beloved sons Dennis Lutrell Hancock, to

eternal rest.

Dennis Lutrell Hancock was born on May 11, 1948 in Balti-

more, Maryland to the late Ulysses and Estella Hancock.

Dennis received his education in the Baltimore City School

Systems and graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar Senior

High School in 1966. Upon completion of high school, he

attended Cortez-Peters Business School upon which he re-

ceived a certificate of completion. After business school,

Dennis started working at Bethlehem Steel Corporation,

Sparrows Point Shipyard as a first class welder. Dennis re-

tired from Sparrows Point Shipyard, in 1996 after 30+ plus

years of employment.

Dennis accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early

age. He was actively a member at Huber Memorial where he

was on the Street Evangelism Team. New Psalmist where he

was on the Mens Choir, and his most recent Empowerment

Temple until his health began to decline. Dennis truly loved

the Lord, and really enjoyed various television ministries. He

truly loved reading God's Word.

Dennis was an avid sports fan particularly the Baltimore

Ravens football team. Dennis loved eating crabs year round

and you would always find him relaxing with his cigars.

Dennis truly had a love for his family. He carried the legacy

of his parents always caring and cherishing his family. Dennis

had a lasting impression on everyone he came in contact. He

will truly be missed.

He leaves to cherish his memories: four children, Amelia Davis

(Streeter), Kevin Gardner, and Danielle Young, (Tay); seven

grandchildren, Dennis Hancock III, Kristal Davis, La Smith

(Arica), Aniya Gardner, Zoey Young; one nephew, Stephen

Williams (Leticia); seven great grandchildren, Erin, Aubree,

August, Dyjai, Dyonne, Carter, Brandon; one great niece, Faith

Williams; one devoted sister, Darlene Williams and one broth-

er-in-law Donald Williams. A host of aunts and uncles and

other relatives. He also leaves to mourn his fiance, Llyvone

Carter and a host extended family and friends.

His brother Ulysses Hancock Jr. and his son Dennis Hancock

Jr. preceded him in death.
