IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dereck
Green
October 1, 1973 – July 4, 2025
Born to Deborah Green and the late William Green on October 1, 1978 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on July 4, 2025 due to a tough battle with cancer at Gilchrist Hospice. Dereck was affectionately known as Dee. Dereck received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Dereck also attended Job Corp and mastered the trade of bricklaying. Dereck attended barber school and obtained his barber's license in 2004. He has been cutting hair for over thirty years as he was most passionate about barbering.
Dereck pivoted to armed security after obtaining his gun license in October 2024. He was extremely proud of that accomplishment! Dereck accepted the lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the age of eight. He aleo enjoyed bible study with the late Mrs. Johnson. Dereck was a devoted family man, husband and father. He was a loving father and triend to his children and loved spending time with family and triends. He did not play about his family! Dereck was a protector, a provider, a teacher and like a preacher who ministered to many, his barbershop chair was his pulpit. He was a gentle soul with a heavenly presence, he touched a lot of people. If you encountered Dereck, you remembered his imprint on your soul.
Dereck also had a very playful side, and he loved to joke and prank you at every opportunity. He had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed doing the human beat-box and making rhymes which he referred to as *BARS". His favorite past times were eating ice cream, listening to the Temptations and watching "Good Times" over and over again. He also loved going bike-riding with his kids. Dereck LOVED his waves, muscles and goatee. He loved watching The First 48, dog breeder and barbering videos on social media and YouTube. He also loved to dance, listen to good 90's ROB music, and playing his numbers. Dereck also loved playing football and baseball on his PS4. He also enjoyed lifting weights and flexing his muscles to show his physical strength. Dereck also loved his Jordan a's and his watches. Occasionally, he would bless his family with his famous smothered porkchops.
He would share his testimony and spread the gospel to all who would listen. He was a great conversationalist who gave great advice and being in his chair was like going to a therapy session. Most importantly, Dereck loved the LORD more than anything in this world! Dereck leaves to cherish his memory: wife Danielle Green; children Destiny Hawkins, Demi Green, Dereck Jr. and Derell Green; grandchildren Kamali Harrell and Logan Green; mom Deborah Green; mother-in-law Ruby Davis; one sister Tiffany Michelle; nieces Tamya, Asia and Tanaya and nephew Larry, and a host of endearing and loving uncles, aunts, cousins, in-laws and close friends, Lay, Curtis, Byrd, Tim-Jim, and friends.
