Obituary

Derrick David Woody, born October 8, 1968 in The Bronx New
York. He attended All Saints Catholic School in The Bronx and
later moved to Teaneck New Jersey where he attended Teaneck
High School. While living in Teaneck, he met a set of best friends,
James "Jerry" Eaddy, Christopher "Khallf" Street, Gary Brower.
During his time in Teaneck he would spend his free time at. THE
RINK with friends and his cousins Avery "Ace" Potter and Tyrone
"Ty" Potter.

He would later moved to Manassas Virginia where he met and
later married Stacey Lawrence. Derrick held different jobs, but
most of all he always had at least two jobs at one time. Later
he moved to Jessup, Maryland where he resided with his mother
and continued his dual employment up until health issues began.
During his time in Maryland he also met more great friends
such as Dominique Rogers.

If you knew Derrick, you would know he was an uplifting kind
of guy, he'll take the worst situation and find the best in it and
make sure you saw the vision. He was that guy that was going to
make you speak even when he wasn't having a great day. Despite
his health issues Derrick never let it stop his joy. He had an eye for
the ladies and a gift of gab that never slowed him down.

Derrick leaves to mourn: his mother, Mrs. Karen "KB" Benjamin;
stepfather, Dale "Benji" Benjamin; his sons Brandon Williams and
Marcus Woody, his daughter, Marissa Woody; grandchildren, Takiyah,
Marcus and Tru. Woody; brother, Jason Benjamin; sisters, Kimberly
Anderson and Elizabeth Woody; aunts Debra Woody, Yvonne Williams;
uncle, Damon Woody; cousins, Tyrone Potter, Avery Potter, Darryl
Carrington, Michael Newton, Ariel and Nia Woody, and the Akbar
Family; friends, James Eaddy, Christopher Street, Gary Brower,
Dominique Rogers and many more countless family
and friends.
