Desmond Lamont Payne, better known as "Debo," son of the late Princess Serena Hicks and Gordon David Payne Jr., was born on April 13, 1979, in Baltimore, Maryland. In the early morning hours of October 6, 2025, God whispered in his ear: Well done my son," and peacefully called him home. His Grandparents, Delores Hicks and Albert Hicks, both preceded him in death.

Desmond was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools and worked for Johns Hopkins Bayview up until the time of his death. He loved 'family', and was the life of the party at any event he attended. He loved dancing and making people laugh. He frequently talked about how him and his cousin/sister Ieasha was in talent shows especially the show "Putting on the hits." Debo had a personality that left a lasting impression on anyone he came across.

He was truly a protector of his family. His girls was his world. As long as he knew they were ok, in his words "All is well and Love is love." His favorite spot in the world was in his "recliner" in the front room. That was his man cave and his place of peace. Debo will truly be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
