Dian Beactrice Alston
daughter of the late Winfield and Helen Jobes
was born on January 13, 1940 in Baltimore, MD. She departed this life
on April 24, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She received her education through the Baltimore City School System
and received her GED.
Dian was accepted by the Lord in her twenties.
Dian met her first love, William Jones were they had one daughter,
Helena Jobes. Later she met and married Edward Alston Sr. and out
of this union five children were born, Pearline, Edward, Jr., Lizzy,
Leroy and Norman. (Norman and Lizzy preceded her in death)
Dian worked at various jobs, secretary at American Sales, Pete's
Restaurant as a cook and Roy Rogers as a cashier.
Dian was an affectionate person. She enjoyed listening to her Oldies.
Dian enjoyed watching many TV shows such as Westerns, Perry Mason
and Ironside, Murder She Wrote, Diagnosis Murder and Alfred Hitchcock.
During her teenage years she loved working with her father on fixing
TVs and radios.
She leaves to mourn: two daughters, Helen Jobes and Pearline
Alston Meeks; two sons, Edward Alston, Jr. and Leroy Alston;
four sisters, Annette Jackson, Dale Tillman (Wayne), Winifred
Jobes and Janiece Jefferson; four brothers, Winfield A. Jobes
(Gwen) of Alabama, Ralph Jobes (Sheila), Albert Jobes (Dena)
of Gaithersburg, MD and Charles Jobes (Sarah); eight grandchildren,
fourteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other
relatives and friends.
