IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diann Johnson
Mccants
January 23, 1949 – May 25, 2025
Diann Johnson McCants, the youngest child of Mr. Rufus Johnson and Mrs. Beatrice Bailey Johnson, was born January 23, 1949 in Baltimore Maryland. She attended Baltimore City Public Schools and briefly attended Coppin State College. She grew up attending Hiway Christian Church, under Overseer Wesley A Thomas, where she came to profess her faith in God, accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Diann had a warm and inviting smile and would take time for anyone who needed an ear. She loved fellowshipping with family and friends and one of her favorite events was the monthly family dinner & gathering with her sisters and other family members. Diann loved studying God's word and when visiting her at home, you would often see her dining room table covered in biblical resources, the bible and a notebook or two. She joined Church of the Redeemed of the Lord in 2007 and became a member of the CRL Senior's ministry. Combining her love for Christian service, family and senior fellowship, Diann would often attend the Diamond's Senior Ministry's weekly fellowships at her sisters (Rea & Della's} church, Gospel Tab, whenever possible.
She departed this life, to worship before the throne of God, on Sunday, May 25, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, James McCants, her youngest son, Anthony Thompson (both of Baltimore), oldest brother, William H Bailey (of NJ}, and oldest sister, Marjorie Marie Footman (of Baltimore). She is survived by her sons, William Henry Lance, Jr. (of Baltimore MD} and Rufus Darnell Lance (Anita) (of Orlando Fl) and her sister, Della M Johnson Wilson (of Baltimore} and a host of devoted grandchildren, great, and great great, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co laborers in the gospel.
