IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dineasha
Jefferson
February 14, 1974 – January 5, 2021
DINEASHEA MONIQUE GENERETTE JEFFERSON was born to Arthine M. Hope and the late Jerome H. Generette on February 14, 1974, at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She quietly slipped away to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a lengthy illness on January 5, 2021. Dineashea, fondly known as "Dee", received her education in the Baltimore City Public Schools system. She graduated with honors and awards from Dunbar High School in June 1992. Upon her graduation, she pursued an EMT certification and became a paramedic. She was later hired by Broadway Services to work security and then on to Johns Hopkins where she remained for the last 23 years. Dineashea accepted Christ at an early age. She was later baptized and then renewed her faith in Christ at New Psalmist Baptist Church, in 1997, under the leadership of Bishop Walter Scott Thomas Sr. While there, Dineashea attended new members classes and graduated from the Discipleship Program on May 5, 2006. Dee was a youth usher advisor and a facilitator for youth discipleship. She also received a Certificate of Appreciation for Committed Service to the Kingdom Kidz Usher Ministry. She loved to sing and sang on the Young Adult Choir called Next Generation and assisted with other ministries, Dee embodied a spirit of servitude and would help wherever and whenever needed. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was not ashamed to tell anyone about His goodness. Dineashea was united in Holy Matrimony on March 1, 2003 to Darnell Maurice Jefferson Sr. From this union there were two sons, DeShawn Emmanuel and DeAndre Matthew and together they were a beautiful blended family of eight. Dee was a supportive and present parent in their lives. She was a devoted mother and had a special bond with all six of her boys. As a couple, they enjoyed watching sports and TV cooking shows. From the football field with the Charm City Buccaneers, Parkville Patriots and Forest Park Blackhawks to the wrestling room with McKim Knights, Dee and Darnell were a dynamic coaching duo for youth sports. Dee was very active in her community and all over Baltimore City. She was president of the Policy Council for Baltimore City Head Start as well as president of the policy committee for BCCRC Head Start. Dee served on numerous PTA/PTO boards while her extension of selflessness was endless. Even a diagnosis of breast cancer could not stop her from being great! Dineashea proudly wore her pink in honor of being breast cancer free for the last 10 years. Dineashea was a very special daughter, aunt, godmother, cousin, and friend. Dee wore so many hats while she touched the lives of all who knew her. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She relished in planning family events and outings. Look, Dee loved the Lord, but anyone that knew her knew Cardi B was her "God-sister" and "Bodak Yellow" was her favorite song. Dee enjoyed the company of her daily lunch group from Johns Hopkins Hospital. The simple things brought her so much joy. Dinners with her sister, Dominique, were also a special time. They discovered new and exotic foods together but her mother's spaghetti will always be one of her favorite meals. During her spare time, Dee would hang out with her sisters-in-law, Danetta & Dewanda. Her nephews named her "The Ops" and they adored their family time. Dee had a way of bringing everybody together and keeping them together. Even if you weren't blood she had a gift at making you feel like you were. Dineashea was a kind soul. Her spirit and energy radiated to all those who were blessed by her presence. She was a fighter! She was determined and had the ability to do it ALL with a smile and grace. While departed from this life too soon, Dee's love and legacy continues on through her family. She was preceded in death by her devoted grandmother, Lottie Mae Quarles; her uncle, Amex Emel Quarles; her aunt, Lena M. Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Darnell M. Jefferson; her mother, Arthine Hope; her sons, Darnell Jr., Dominique, Devon, Duane, Deshawn, & DeAndre Jefferson; her sister, Dominique Generette; sisters-in-law, Desiree Jones, Danetta, Dewanda, Denise Wiggins, Teisha Cook, Cassandra Acree; mother-in-law, Yvonne Cook; two grandsons, Kayden Jefferson, Ayden Jenkins; one godson, Sean Wheatley; three goddaughters, Danielle, Sharlie, Damara Jones; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
