Obituary

Domonique Damon Thaniel, beloved son of the late Joseph
William Thaniel and Sharon Lamore Johnson, was born January 30,
1979, in Baltimore, Maryland. He transitioned to his eternal home on
Thursday, January 12,2017.

Domonique received his early education in the Baltimore City Public
School System where he attended Sinclair Lane Elementary and
Herring Run Junior High Schools. At the age of 14, he moved to live
with his Aunt Laura and family at El Toro Air Station in Irvine,
California. There he attend University High School. Throughout his stay in California, Do-
monique made numerous friends and took on countless new hobbies, recreational skate board-
ing, freestyle BMX riding, painting classes, creating comic book characters, assembling and col-
lecting model airplanes are just a few to name.

At the age of 16, Domonique, Aunt Laura and family were stationed at Camp Lejeune
Marine Corps Base in Jacksonville, North Carolina. It would only take a short six months for
Domonique to realize that a town such as Jacksonville was too small to contain a personality as
gigantic as his.

He returned home to Baltimore where he enrolled into The Baltimore School for the Arts, later
he would earn his GED from The Baltimore City Public School System. When he wasn't working
for the city of Baltimore as a Sanitation Operator he took joy in many different pastimes, fishing .

i
(in which he became an expert in his own right), traveling spending quality time with his family

and friends.

Domonique considered fatherhood his proudest and greatest life achievement. He loved his
children with every fiber of his being. When he wasn't posting about them and all of their
accomplishments on one of his many social media accounts, he was boasting to whomever
would lend an ear.

Domonique was a blessed man and the epitome of a loyal friend, mentor, hard worker,
a loving and dependable family member and a great father. He can never be replaced and will be
missed dearly.

Although we're saddened by Domonique's sudden departure, we are grateful to God for the
precious years He gave him to spend with us. His time here on earth has been fulfilled and he
leaves to honor and cherish his memory his seven wonderful children: Domonique Jr., DeAza,
Daequan, Kavon, Nakiyah, Darrien, and Travis; Stepmother, Karen Stranford; Grandmother,
Laura L. Johnson; two brothers, Travis and DeAndre; two stepbrothers, Antoine Parker, Clifton
Parker; three Aunts, Eva, Jean Johnson, Laura Watts; six uncles, Duncan Johnson, James
Watts, Zachery Thaniel, David Thaniel, Paul Thaniel, Tommy Thaniel; and a host of nephews,
nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
