Don Perry Johnson was born on March 2, 1958 to Aubrey L. Johnson Jr. and the late Evelyn Johnson. He departed this life on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Don attended the Baltimore City Public School System and later received his GED. Don enjoyed sports such as basketball and baseball where he was called "Little Don Buford." Don loved all kids. He would keep plenty of pocket candy for his nieces and nephews. At a young age, Don accepted Christ and later joined New Harvest Ministries where he worshiped until his illness prohibited him from attending service. Don worked at an early age and he found many jobs including, shoe shine boy, paper boy, Pepper's Grocery Store, John's Restaurant, Shapiro's, White House, White Coffee Pot Restaurant and Vulcan Blazers as a janitor. Don worked at Apostolic Towers for twenty-one years until his health failed him. Don spent his months enjoying his family, singing, joking, and praying for his family members. His daughter DonKemia and Luther Jones took care of him until his death. His favorite songs were "Sadie" and "Hold on Until Your Change Comes." Don has two great women waiting to meet him in glory, his mother Evelyn Johnson and his sister Patricia Figgs. Don leaves to cherish his memory: devoted daughter, DonKemia Johnson and Tiffany Jones; sons, Domianio and Don Johnson Jr.; wife, Tonya Johnson; four stepdaughters, Shauntay, Shanay, Unique, and LaTonya; two grandchildren, Tanaysha Baker and Kyree Jones; his father, Aubrey L. Johnson Jr.; four sisters, Evelyn, Janice, Linda and Sharon; four brothers, Aubrey III, John, James and Marv; three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; goddaughter, Raquel Johnson; five aunts, four uncles, ninety-five nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
