November 22, 1967 – July 28, 2019
Donald Ingram was born on November 22, 1967 to Purdies (Cookie) Ingram-
Hairston and Terry Orr in Winston Salem, NC. Donald fell asleep in death on July 28,
2019 after fighting a lengthy illness.
Donald was educated in Baltimore Public Schools. He played as a guard for
Southwestern High School Basketball team with dreams of becoming an NBA player.
Sadly, his dream was taken away from him when he became a victim of senseless
street violence, which changed is life drastically. Donald did not let his disability
hinder him, he continued his education and received his high school diploma, and
worked for a short time with the State of Maryland.
Donald was a very mid-tempered person who always greeting you with a smile. He
was always willing to help out and give encouragement to those in need. He loved
spending time with family and friends watching sports, karate flicks, playing video
games and joking around.
Donald was preceded in death by family who he was very close to, his Grandmother
Daisy Ingram, Aunt Carrie Lashley, Aunt Myrtle Williams, and two cousins who were
like brothers to him Danny Graham and Kevin Lashley.
Donald leaves to cherish his memories: mother Purdies (Cookie), father, Terry Orr,
stepfather James Hairston all from Winston Salem, NC; one daughter, Arielle Ingram
and granddaughter Lizzie Ingram of Wilmington, NC; wife Veronica Ingram, stepson
Jayquan Patterson; sister Linda Jordan and his twin brother Ronald Ingram; a host of
nieces and nephews, one uncle James Ingram of Winston Salem, NC, mother-in-law
whom he called Mama Eddy, three sister-in-laws Marie Byam, Michelle Wilson and
Francine McCaffity; one brother-in-law Harold Alford of Georgia; and a host of other
relatives and friends. A special thanks to his cousins Antonio Lashley for caring for
him and Geraldine Lashley for being a source of support and encouragement.
