DONALD PAYNE JR. was the oldest of three children born to the late Donald Payne Sr. and Ida Margaret Payne in Baltimore, Maryland. He suddenly departed this earth on February 7, 2014. Kirby, Courtenaye, Donald Sr., and Ida Payne preceded him in death. He is now resting in peace with his entire immediate family in the house of the Lord. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. He began his career serving in the United States Army. In the latter part of his career, he possessed pride and joy working for Baltimore City Parks and Recreations as a life guard at Druid Hill Park Pool. He later became employed in his family's business known as Fords Express. Donald [r., who we know as Buttons, by others would be described as a loner. He was content with his life. He had a deep love for his family and friends. He never needed much to make him happy. He revered the companionship he had with his mother. She was his rock. Buttons was not a loner, but a quiet, humble soul. He leaves a legacy of love, respect, and commitment. Buttons leaves to cherish his memory: his stepfather, Charles Ford (known as Sam); two nephews, Kirby Jr. and Courtney Payne; one niece, Raquia Payne (known as Coco); four great- nephews and -nieces, Corey, Courtenaye, Kenaz, Mackenzie; and a host of cousins and friends.
