Donald Lee Roberts Jr. was born on October 14, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Marie Turner and Donald Lee Roberts Sr. On November 29th 2024, he gained his wings and was called home.
Donald, affectionate known as "Pee-Wee," received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Southern High School.
He was the oldest of six children. He had a special bond with his grandmother Annie Turner, and they attended New Shiloh Baptist Church together. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in April 1990. He was on the Usher Board at New Shiloh.
Donald worked for Neil's Cleaners for 13 years. When Neil's closed, he started working for Correctional Food Service. Afrer leaving that job, he started working for University of Maryland Hospital.
He had a love for cooking. He would cook for his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking during his favorite holidays, which were Thanksgiving and Christmas. During his pastime he enjoyed watching game shows, The Young and the Restless, and eating at his favorite restaurant, Golden Corral. Also, he enjoyed watching his brother Tyrone's dogs, Chole, Tucker, and Zoey. His favorite football team was the Baltimore Ravens.
Donald, who did not father any children, had a special bond with his nieces and nephews. He taught his niece Myeshia how to cook. Donald loved when she made Spaghetti. He shared a special bond with each one of them and he will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother Marie Turner, grandmother Annie Turner, uncles Ronald Bates, Clarence Turner, great-uncle James L. Burley, and cousin Wendell Pender.
Donald leaves to cherish his memory: his only sister, Geraldine Hinton; four brothers, Anthony Hinton, Frederick Gillis, Tyrone Gillis and Gartrell Gillis; one sister-in-law, Felicia Hinton; four nieces, Myeshia Gayden, Charde' Hinton, Tiara Gillis and Tianna Gillis; two nephews, Tyrell Gillis and Trayshawn Gillis; bonus niece and nephews, Travis, Ashley, Andrew; five great-nieces and
-nephews, Dayshawn, Kenzie, Rhy'Diar, Chance and Caden; two aunts, Rebecca Turner and Barbara Jean Bates; cousin, Cheryl (who he had a special bond with); and host of other relatives and friends.
