Donald Lee Ward, son of the late Shirley Winslow and
Phyllis White, was born on August 31, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland.
He departed this life on June 3, 2018.

Donald received his education in the Baltimore City Public School
System. He joined the United States Army, and was honorably
discharged in 1971.

Donald worked many jobs which include; the U.S. Postal Service and
several construction/mechanical jobs, before starting a career with the
Department of Veteran Affairs in Environmental Management Services.
Donald took pride in helping other Veterans such as himself, and had a
great rapport with Veteran Affairs staff members. Some of the
employees nicknamed him the "Candy Man" because he always
left a blue square mint or piece of candy in their area. He retired in
2011 so that he could relax, work on his art, and spend more time
with Jake, his Cocker Spaniel. Donald also enjoyed entertaining family
and friends at his home with "deep" conversation, lots of laughter,
and music.

Donald loved his family tremendously and enjoyed every moment
spent with them.

He is survived by his wife, Brinda Ward; two daughters,
Tondrea Ward, LaTarsha Ward-McGougan; son-in-law;
Dennis McGougan Jr., five grandsons; Derrick Sr. (Terricka),
Davon (Carla), Terrell Jr., Antonio III, Dennis III; two great
grandchildren, Derrick Jr., Dylan; mother-in-law,
Laura Bailey; two brothers, Willie E. Ward, Eric Cross; four sisters;
Phyllis Dangerfield, Eunice Pearson, Lorena Johnson, Juanita Lacey;
extended grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews,
and a host of other family and close friends.
