Obituary

DONNA LOUISE WADE was born June 2, 1956 to Rolfe and Miriam Wade at the Baltimore City Hospitals Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center). At an early age, Donna



was a member of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America. As a youth, Donna professed her faith and was confirmed at Ames Memorial United Methodist Church. At Ames, Donna was a member of the of the young adult choir and other ministries. Donna was a lover of music and had a vast knowledge of music trivia. At family gatherings, Donna could be found on the dance floor dancing well after the last person departed.



Donna's early childhood education began in the school systems of Frankfurt, Germany. Later, Donna matriculated in the Baltimore City Public School System. In 1974, Donna graduated from Northwestern Senior High School. After graduation, she attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), from 1974 to 1976. Donna later earned her certification as a pharmacy technician from the All-State Career of Baltimore.



Donna was employed at Sparrows Point, where she worked for over 36 years. During her time there, she was a member of the United Steelworkers Union of America, local 2610. Donna was also an active member of the United Steelworkers Women of Steel, an activist arm of the United Steelworkers Union. During her career, Donna was recognized for the footprint and pathway she made during her tenure at Sparrows Point. Donna will be honored with her name engraved on a brick, which will be placed on display at the Museum of Industry in downtown Baltimore. Always willing to help others, Donna enjoyed giving and bringing joy to the lives of others. A member of "The Well" of Curtis Bay, Donna loved to serve people and believed in the empowerment and betterment of women.



Donna departed this life January 29, 2021. She was proceeded in death by her son Rolfe Donnel Wade and her father Rolfe Scott Wade. She leaves to celebrate her life, her mother, Miriam Bernice Wade; three sisters, Phyllis N. Wade, Lisa A. Wade-Newsome, and Judith M. Hampton; four nieces Chevette Blackwell, Pacinia Blackwell-Gordon, LaQuwietitia Conley (Jerald) and Dominique Hunter (Anthony); four great-nephews, Kysean Morgan, Anthony Gordon, William Harrell and Thomas Harrell; two great-nieces, Hannah Gordon and Addison Hunter; and host of family and friends.
