IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doretha Patricia
Harden
March 7, 1952 – March 10, 2022
Doretha Patricia Harden was born on March 7, 1952 to the late Jöhn L Härden Sr and
Lila F. Harden (Holmes), in Baltimore, Maryland. Dordy, as she was affectionately
called by her family and friends was called home by the Lord on March 6, 2022.
Dordy received her elementary and secondary education from the Baltimore Public
School System. She accepted Christ at an early age an enjoyed singing and praising
the Lord while playing her tambourine.
Dordy loved to keep her hair looking good. She enjoyed cooking for her family and
watching movies on BET. Sister Act was one of her favorites, while eating snacks was
her go to comfort food, as sharing them with her grandchildren and others made
her happy. Dordy loved to sing. At family gatherings, she would always share her
voice, jokes, and loud and distinguished yet contagious laugh
She enjoyed to attend activities provided by the nursing facility, BINCO especially.
She also was enlightened by her frequent phone call from our family's friend, Sherry
Hunt to sing over the phone. Dordy would say, "Aw, I love to hear her sing" She
would smile and sing along.
Dordy was blessed with a large and loving family. She was the 5th of 12 children. She
was the loving, caring and nurturing mom to Derrick and Kristine, which both were
the apples of her eyes. She adored her grandchildren which they all were her
favorites.
As Dordy would ask how each of her family members were doing on each visit or
phone conversation, we will always cherish her memories in our hearts.
She has joined her parents, one sister, Brenda Andrews and brother, Gregory
Harden, Sr. who has met her in eternal rest.
Dordy leaves to cherish her memories by her children, Derrick Williams (Ebony) and
Kristine Harden. Grandchildren, Derrick, Dayonna, Erick, Derika, Derrick Jr., Tyson,
Lyric, and Laila. Three sisters, Marvelle Welsh, Margaret Henderson, and Karen
Cornish. Six brothers, John L. Jr., Larry, Cornell, Lorenza, Kevin, and Lamont Harden.
