Dorethea Ray, daughterof the late Franklin and Dorothy Ray, was born on May 7, 1931 in Oak Ridge, North Carolina. She departed life on February 26, 2006 after a lengthy illness. She received her education at Oak Ridge High School in North Carolina. She was a nanny to many families and did extensive traveling with them. She received her certification to be a nurse and was later employed with Maryland General Hospital. She was a member of The Holy Name Church of Jesus. Dorethea made numerous friends wherever she went. She was a true friend of many and a devoted grandmother. She was especially close to close to Cindy and Sentia. She leaves to mourn: three children, Dale Sr., Dorothy and Margo; two brothers, Willie and Charlie; one sister, Annie Sorrell; three brothers proceeded her in deat, Franklin, Jr., James and Wilbert; one brother-in-law, Moses Sorrell; one sister-in-law, Vivian Ray, one son-in-law, John Jr.; six grandchildren, Cindy, Tonya, Toni, Dermond, Charmayne and Dale Jr.; twelve great grandchildren, Sentia, Ebonee, Elliott II, James Jr., Ja'Meya, Yolanda, Daniel, Thurman the late Demond Jr., Kishara, Yasmeen and Ayanna; a host of neices and nephews; and two special friends paul and Charles. She will surely be missed.
