Obituary

Doris Elaine Croswell, daughter of the late Theodore and Gladys Burrell, was born on February 23, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland. On thursday, April 2, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital, God saw the need to remove her fromour mist, after a lengthy illness. She reveived her eduation in the Baltimore City Public Schools. She was employed by Jay's Transportation Bus Service as a school bus assistant. She was united in matrimony, December 18, 1954 to the late James A. Croswell, Sr; between this union there were four children, James A. Croswell, Jr. deceased, Sharon A.E. Croswell, Jerome T. Croswell, and Sheila M. McArthur all of Baltimore City. Doris was baptized at an early age at St. Johns A.M.E. Methodist Church. She was a current member of the Pennsylvania Avenue AME Zion Church, where she was a faith member until her passing. She was a member of the Usher Board and Maryland Club. Doris loved serving the Lord. Doris was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who lived for her family. She loved to dance to dance and had a passion for taking care of children. She loved life and had a good time wherever she went. She leaves to mourn: one son, Jerome T. Croswell, two daughters, Sharon E. Croswell and SheilaM. McArthur, three grandchildren-Monique Briley Dante-husband, Veronique McArthur, and Tyrone Croswell; three great-grand children-Shaniya briley, Shayla Briley, and Caiden McDonald, two sisters-Shirley Burrell and Joyce Monroe, four brothers-Edward, Theodore M. George, and Gordon Burrell; one aunt Evelyn Tunstall, and a host of family and friends.
