Obituary

Doris Duppins, daughter of the late Catherine Stewart and George
Carter born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 4, 1927. She had four
brothers who passed also, Robert, Leon, Albert, and Raymond.

Doris attended public school in Baltimore, Maryland. She then came out
of school and started working at a Blind Company.

Doris accepted Jesus Christ in her life in 1940. She joined Emmanuel
Church. She was baptized by Charles Howell.

She met Fleming Howard in 1952 and four children came out of that
marriage, Tyrone, Angela, Antoinette and Fleming. Fleming Howard Sr.
preceded her in death in 1976. She then met John Duppins who she
married in 1980. He preceded her in death February 18, 1987.

Doris attended Mount Hebron Memorial Church of God in Christ, she
joined May 19, 1991. She was a member of the Mother Board, Pulpit
Circle and Overseer of the Kitchen.

Doris owned a daycare. She took care of children for years. She was a
great entrepreneur, which led her daughter to open her own business.

Doris had seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. My mother
had a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great cousins, great nieces, great
nephews, one aunt, Thelma Watson; two daughters-in-law, Sherly How-
ard was at her side; she also had a large church family, Superintendent
Henry B. Hunt and First Lady Doris E. Hunt; some members of the
church are, Mother White, Mattie Kneer, Brother Cotton, and Sister
Majorie Logon; her close cousin that did a lot of things with her, Darlene
Holly. My mother loved Presbury Street, she had family there, the Emer-
son, Battle and Pool family. She had a family who were around her all her
life Leona Frazier and Edith Williams and other friends and relatives.

Doris was a resident at Future Care where she died on January 23, 2017,
4:20 a.m. We thank Roslyn, Shawn, Christian and Ann.
