June 6, 1971 – January 3, 2022
DOROTHY EDWARDS-ADELEKE, daughter of the
late Grant Jr. and Sylvia Edwards, was born on June
6, 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland. On the evening of
January 3, 2022, Dorothy peacefully departed this life
and received her Heavenly welcome from her parents
and grandparents.
Dorothy attended Baltimore
City Public Schools
Dorothy, affectionately known as "Boobie" or "Dot" to
her family,
"Ms. Dorothy"
to the people she helped,
and
"Mommy" or "Ma" to her children, prided herself
as being a graduate of Western High School. Upon
completion, Dorothy went to Germany for a year and
then went off to matriculate at Morgan State University.
Dorothy worked with individuals with disabilities. This
was her passion! She worked at Linwood Center Inc
After, she went to National Center on Institutions and
Alternatives (NCIA) for 5 years. While there, she worked
as a Residential Case Manager. She prided herself in
caring for all her individuals as if they were her family.
She loved them deeply and they loved her.
Dorothy had two children, Ngozi and Chukwuemeka
She married Adeniyi Adeleke and through this union
she acquired four wonderful stepchildren, Adeola,
Gbemisola, Funmilayo, and Ayodeji.
Being the ever so friendly Dorothy, she made numerous
friends with everyone. She loved singing at karaoke,
farmer's market trips, and spending time with her
family.
She leaves to cherish her memory: children, Ngozi and
Chukwuemeka Ogala; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends
