Dorothy Lee Smith was born to Ruth Smith on July 11, 1930 in Henrico County, Virginia. She attended school in Richmond, Virginia. She was an only child. Dorothy was later married to Johnny Lee Graham and became Dorothy Lee Graham. Dorothy later moved from Richmond, Virginia to Baltimore, Maryland around 1965. She raised her 11 children while working at Rosewood State Hospital as a housekeeper. She was known for her hospitality. Dorothy loved cooking and entertaining company. Later on Dorothy would spend her days watching her grandchildren and her daytime soaps. Saturdays were reserved as the Sabbath day, which was spent listening to gospels and praising God. She was a devoted member of Grace and Faith Baptist Church for several years. On November 8, 2012, Dorothy was called home to be with God. Proceeding her in death is her mother Ruth Smith, her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Myron Alston. Two sons Riley Reed Petus and James Harrison Petus. Papa, Gas, Pipe, and Uncle JoJo. Leaving to cherish her memory are seven daughters, Patricia Norwood, Pamela Graham, Christmas Jackson, Cynthia Davis, Dorothy Graham, Audrey Graham, and Michelle King. Three son-in-laws, Benjamin Norwood, Rodney Jackson, and Paris Davis. Twenty five grandchildren, sixty three great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great-grandchildren. There are several other family and friends that Dorothy has left her memory behind with.
