Obituary

Dorothy Hyacinth Sadler , daughter of the late Rachel Walters
and St Ledger Joseph, was born on March 2, 1946 in Portland,
Jamaica. She departed this life on May 25,2018 after a short
illness/massive heart attack.

Dorothy Hyacinth Sadler received her high school education
in Kingston, Jamaica. She also attended Essex and Baltimore
City Community College, graduating with a diploma in Mental
Health. After graduating high school in Kingston Jamaica, she
joined the Postal Service as a postal clerk, and she was quickly
promoted to the distinguished position of Post Mistress, meaning
she was in charge of the post office to which she was assigned.

While working as a postal clerk, she met Mr. Donald Ledford Senior,
which resulted in a marriage. The union produced two sons, Devon
and Donald Ledford Junior. She migrated to the United States of
America, and upon arrival to the United States of America, Dorothy
Hyacinth Sadler seized the opportunity to further her education
by attending both Essex and Baltimore City Community College.

After graduating from Baltimore City College, Dorothy Sadler worked
at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore City as a mental health technician.
She was a very industrious woman, and that led her to start a home
business of caring for the elderly. Her dedication and her passion
for humanity acted as a catalyst and cause her to expand her home
business to a much larger complex. In addition to her industriousness,
she had a profound love for the Lord, and she started a church,
and she was heavily involved in theological work. She is the founder
of this very church in which we are celebrating her departure. She is
well known throughout her church organization, and she will be sadly
missed by everyone.

She leaves to mourn: her brother, Ellington Walters; sister,
Grace Burke; sons, Devon Ledford and Donald Ledford, Jr.;
daughter-in-law, Kirsten Ledford; granddaughters, Faith Ledford
and Lindiwe Ledford, and numerous other relatives and friends.
