IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy L.
Mason
March 27, 1939 – July 21, 2019
Dorothy was born on March 21" 1939 in Mount Ally, MD 10 her
late parents Lavonia Thomas and Bernard Brightful. She
departed this life on July 21 st 2019.
Dorothy was educated in the Carroll County Public School System., she
graduated from Robert Moten High School. She relocated to Baltimore City
with her mother where she secured a job through Urban Services, started a
career with the Enoch Pratt Free Library, and raised her children. She retired
from Pratt Library after 42 years of service.
Dorothy was known as "Molly", you could be sure to hear ''Hey Ms.
Molly" if you were any where near Myrtle Ave. and Dolphin st. When she
was not at work she was home, enjoying the company of her neighbors,
friends, and family. Molly was a homemaker, she kept her home tidy and her
kitchen stocked with food. You could be sure to find Molly close to home
most days sitting on her front porch, cleaning, or cooking a meal. She was a
no-nonsense woman with a matter fact approach to life's ups and downs.
Molly was unapologetically honest no matter the topic and lived her life on her
own terms, that is what her family loved most about her. Molly had a Big
laugh, a Big smile, and a Big heart that balanced out her "tough-as-nails"
demeanor.
Molly befriended many, the late Irene Yow and Russell "Cl" Anderson
had a special bond with her. After Molly's mother passed away, Ms. Irene
supported Molly and her children like family; CJ was Molly's loving
companion who treated her family like his own until he was laid to rest.
Molly's son Kevin Thomas, brother Robert Thomas, and grandson Jeffrie
Thomas Jr. preceded her in death. She leaves behind to mourn her children
Jeffrie Thomas Sr., Monique Jones, and Gregory Thomas; grandchildren
Melondy Monestine, Didier "Dr' Monestine, Nicole Stokes, and Bianca
Bullock; great-grandchildren Gerard Gross Ill, Nyree Gross, Zoey Monestine,
Jayden Ozoemena, Jamarri Ozoemena, Jurnee Stokes, Allen Thomas, and
Navaeh Golden and a host of family and friends.
