Obituary

Death is not an ending, but the beginning of new life which God has prepared for us. Thus, our beloved mother began this new life on April 2, 2016 quietly at the University of Maryland Midtown Center ICU unit after a lengthy illness. Dorothy M. Pearsall-Parrnely, daughter of the late Eddie and Lossie Pearsall, was born June 20, 1936 in Mt. Olive, North Carolina.

Dorothy, affectionately known as "Dot" received her education in the Public School System in Mt. Olive, North Carolina. With a desire to pursue better employment, she relocated to Baltimore, MD and resided with her brother Charlie, who preceded her in death. Soon thereafter, she began working at the Baltimore Country Club in Roland Park and Bonnie View Country Club in Pikesville, Maryland as a short order cook. Her last employment was in the Baltimore City Public School System, where she retired after working 27 years.

This queenly woman accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at a very early age at the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She moved her membership to Brown's Memorial Baptist Church where she served on the Nurses' Unit and actively participated in numerous religious programs and organizations until her health prevented her from attending. Dorothy truly had a servant's heart caring for others. She especially loved serving Red Zinger Tea to her Pastor. Throughout her life, the Lord, Jesus Christ has been her loving Savior and Guide.

She unselfishly provided for others with a wonderful quality of life to include a strong spiritual upbringing. She sincerely appreciated the acts of kindness shown by all who knew and loved her. She was a member of the North Carolina Club and the Red Hat Society. She loved to travel and cook her delicious Sunday and holiday meals that were off the hook good!

During her illness, the whistle of time began to blow and Dorothy was ready to move to her Heavenly Father's house singing her favorite hymns: His Eye Is on the Sparrow , May the Work I've Done Speafor Me , God Will Take Care of You, and Going Up Yonder .

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Parmely. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Edward "Carnell" Pearsall and Jeffery "Dock" Parmely; two daughters, Bonnetta Mari Johnson and Sheryl Parrnely; one daughter in-law, Janice Pearsall; a dear sister, Rachel Coe; grandson, Newell; beautiful granddaughters, Chanta, Marquita, Alexia, Victoria, Kimberly and Yolanda, along with the smiling faces of her great-grandchildren that she loved very much, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, and three special friends, Leila
Hargrove, Leola Carter and Ms. Hendrix.
