Obituary

Dorothy Doramber Smith, affectionately known as "Dot",

was born on June 30, 1936 in Monroe, North Carolina to the
late Calli on (Callie) Howie and Dee B. Howie who preceded
her in death along with her brother, Mozel Howie. On
Monday, October 8, 2018 Dot quietly slipped away in the
comfort of her daughter's home from her earthly vessel to
receive her crown in Glory with her devoted daughter
Debbie, son Michael, Family and Friends by her side.

Dorothy received her formal education in Baltimore, MD
and graduated from Carver High School in Towson. She
furthered her education at Bowie College in Bowie.

Dorothy married John Q. Smith in 1955; from this union a

. daughter was born, Deborah Lynn Smith. "Dot" was a
devoted grandmother of Tavon Edwards, who preceded her
in death at the age of 23 years old. In 1993 Dorothy Married
Henry W. Moore, who preceded her in death; from this
union she gained a son, Michael W. Moore. Dot and HeIlI'Y
traveled many places all over the world.

Dorothy D. Smith, "Dot" worked at The White Coffee Pot
restaurant for several years and she also worked for The
Salvation Army, feeding the homeless. Dot, Henry and
Tavon loved helping people. They received an award of
appreciation, presented to Dorothy Smith, with gratitude for
helping to brighten the lives of the homeless. "Sharing is
Caring"

Dorothy had a long standing career at the Social Security
Administration (SSA) before her retirement after serving
over 30 years. She was a hard worker, devoted and eager to
learn and extremely dependable. She was respected and
depended upon by her peers and upper management. Her
outstanding work resulted in her receiving several monetary
awards and promotions over the years. She was an
impeccable dresser and loved fashion, which was easily
applauded by all.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memories: Devoted
daughter, Deborah Lynn "Debbie" Smith; Son, Michael W.
Moore (Karen); Granddaughter, Daja Wilson; one (1) niece,
Jammi Howie; two (2) great-nieces, Riley Wright and Tatum
Wright; Granddaughter, Dawn B. Causion; Cousins,
Raymond, Helen, Shirley, Linda, Anita and Joseph and a
host of other relatives and friends.
