Dorothy Mae Thomas, daughter of the last Thomas Thompson and
Mable Lawson was born on September 25, 1928 in Baltimore, Mary-
land. She departed this life on May 1,2016 after a lengthy illness.

She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System.

Dorothy met Frederick Thomas and the two were later married on
December 3, 1943 and from that union a daughter, Beverly A. Thomas
who preceded her in death in 1996 was born.

Later in life Dorothy would give her life to Christ and joined the
Whitestone Baptist Church December 3, 1955 where she was a faithful
member for 59 years.

Dorothy loved working in church ministries such as the Thompson
Faithful Workers, The Senior Missionaries and of course the Senior
Choir. Dorothy really loved sharing her gift of singing, especially for
anniversaries for various ministries of the church. Dorothy was a mother
to everyone she met, whether you wanted her to or not. She would also
chastise the young ladies hanging out in the ladies restroom, and if you
gave her any lip she would slap them on thee bottom. When she started
getting older she graduated to her cane.

Dorothy loved her daughter, and the two were inseparable. Dorothy,
Rev. Thomas as she was addressed loved her and was devoted to her
Pastor, Rev. Dr. Elmore E. Warren Jr. who took an interest in her with
the fact that she was not only a woman minister and the new kid on the
block, invited her to be part of the working ministers of the church.

She leaves to mourn: one son, Graylin; one daughter-in-law, Charmaine
Thomas; one god daughter, Natalie; one granddaughter, Melody; grand-
sons, Kevin, Charles, Neal, James, Brandon, Brian, Christopher; one
aunt, Amanda; a host of great grands and great great all to many to name
