IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy
Wright
February 28, 1919 – December 29, 2018
On Saturday, December 29, the Wright Family Matriarch,
Mrs. Dorothy C. Right (nee Boardley) slipped away quietly, two
months shy of her 100th birthday. Mrs. Wright, the last of 13
children, was born on February 28, 1919 to the late Ida and
Walter Boardley.
She was raised and schooled in Baltimore where she lived all
her life.
She was married to the late Frank Wright until his death in 1972.
Dorothy and Frank brought 8 children into the world; three of their
children, Dorethea Jackson, Melvin Wright and Donald Wright
preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wright was a member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church; she
attended Ebenezer since she was a little girl. She recalled going
to the altar at age 13 to get "religion" as it was said back in the
day. She was an active member of Ebenezer until entering
Manor Care two years ago. Mrs. Wright served on the S. A.
Thompson Circle, Stewardess Board, Usher Board, Flower
Circle, Layman's Board and a Class Leader.
Mrs. Wright left a message for you: she wanted everyone to know
that she lived her life as a Christian and truly loved the Lord. Her
favorite hymn was
"To God
Be the Glory",
which she sang at family
get-together's. She wants you to know she's always giving
God the glory!
Mrs. Wright leaves many members to celebrate her life daughters,
Shirley Johnson, Vivian Dixon (Sherman) and Patricia Holbrook;
sons, Franklin Wright (Naomi) and John Wright (Vicki); there are
22 living grandchildren (4 are deceased), 55 great-grandchildren,
27 great-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great-grandchild,
nieces, nephews and cousins. Faithful
friends, Reverend Charles R. Butler, his wife Maria, Priscilla
Warren and the Ebenezer Church Family.
