Dorthiea McCray (Shaw) was born, the oldest of 7 children, on July 26,1955 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Bishop James E. Shaw, Sr. and Ella Mae Shaw (Washington). She departed this life on May 9,2015. She was preceded in death by her father on Jan. 29, 2015. Dot or Nellie, as she was affectionately known, was educated in the Nesmith, SC and Baltimore City school systems. Dot met James McCray in 1990 and on July 12,1997 they were married with her father officiating the union. With this marriage two families united as one. She was a people person with a huge personality and commanding presence. She brought family and friends together with her cooking and warm sincere smile. She had a very unique way of expressing her words of wisdom by keeping it real; telling you like it is with no filter and saying it all with a smile. She was like a mother and friend to many. Her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her so much joy and happiness. She leaves to mourn her loving husband, James, her mother, Ella Mae Shaw, her daughters Keesha Shaw, Shamica Jackson, Kim Walker, Angela Early (Eugene) and Shamia Johnson (William); her grandchildren LaShawn Webb-Shaw, Tiniesha Webb-Shaw, Kristen Brown, Dr'nesha Dale, Zion Rivera, [ordyn Jackson, Myles Walker, Olivia Early, Brandon Early and Darrelle Lewis; her great grandchildren, A'mora Campbell, Aiyanna Gainer and Justin Shaw; her sisters Lorraine Decketts (Stanford), Olivia Shaw, Esther Barnes (Larry), Sylvia Goodman-Bey (Harim) and Brenda White (Frankie); her brothers Conrith "PeeWee" Shaw, Larry Shaw (Etta Mae), James Shaw II (Verdell), Rodney Goodman (Hannah) and Brian Goodman; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and best friend Catherine "Cookie" Freeman.
