Drequan Christopher Gross was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Cantra Fisher and the late Kenneth “Sweets” Gross, Sr. on Tuesday, August 15, 2000. Drequan’s entrance into the world was one that brought love unknown to Cantra and love expanded to Sweets. Raised in a family that made love its center, Drequan grew up surrounded by care, deep commitment, and unbreakable closeness.

Drequan was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. He graduated in 2018 from Bluford Drew Jemison High School. An active child and lover of sports, Drequan played in the local football little league. “Bolling Ball;’ as he was known, traveled to Florida when he played for the former Sandtown Wolverines. Football wasn’t his only sports passion. He loved basketball just as much, playing on the James McHenry Recreation Center team. Drequan was also an avid player of botchyball. After graduating high school, Drequan obtained a certification in HVAC. He was passionate about his certification, and proud of his achievement.

 Known to be the life of the party, Drequan lit up any room he entered. One of his favorite places in the world was the Odyssey. Not fully realizing the significance of this establishment to his family, he continued to keep the thumbprint of his bloodline on that place. If there was a party happening, you can be sure Drequan would be there. In fact, any party became his party, and you would think he was the host and planner. He simply wanted those around him to enjoy themselves and enjoy the gift it is to be together.

On the evening of Thursday, August 6, 2026, in a moment of sheer evil, Drequan’s life was tragically taken. Without a doubt, this is a hard reality with which to sit and live, but we take solace in knowing that Drequan knew no suffering as he went from life to life everlasting.

To welcome Drequan into the gift of eternity were Drequan’s sister, Kailah Gross; bonus dad, Milton Stepney, Sr.; grandmother, Civet Jones; grandfather, James Gross; and great-grandmother, Mary Ann Howard. Just one week after his earthly departure, Drequan welcomed his devoted father, Kenneth, into eternity. The family, while broken by the closeness of these losses, takes comfort in knowing that a daughter, son, and father are together again.

Michael Parker; a host of nieces, nephews, great aunts, great uncles, other relatives, and beloved friends. Drequan will forever be loved!
