Dwight A.
Douglas, Sr.
February 14, 1952 – April 11, 2019
Dwight Douglas, Sr., son of the late George Willie Douglass
and Dorothy Lee Walker was born on February 14, 1952 in Baltimore,
Maryland. After a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis, he departed
this life on April 11, 2019.
He received his education in the Baltimore City public school system and
also attended Breckenridge Job Corps Center in Kentucky, then later he
received his degree in Accounting. He enlisted in the armed forces in 1972
and was honorably discharged in 1974.
Dwight was a Master Welder and worked at Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows
Point for many years. Later, he worked for the Maryland Transit
Administration (subway system) until he injured his knee and could no
longer work.
He married the love of his life, Renee Starks Douglass (who preceded him
in death). From this union, three lovely children were born, Faith, Renee
and Dwight, Jr. Later, he married Mary Barnes and from this union one son
Devlin was born.
Dwight had an irresistible smile. He was a connoisseur of music and loved
music from every genre (rhythm and blues, rap, hip hop, jazz, rock and even
country). He was a gifted chess player and an avid ping pong player. Most
of all, he loved his family.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents George W. Douglass and
Dorothy L. Walker, his brother Marshall Martin, his 1st wife and friend
Renee Douglass, and his grandson Kadar Clifton.
He leaves to cherish his memories four children: Faith Douglass, Renee
Meredith (William), Dwight Douglass, Jr. (Katina) and Devlin Douglass;
twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two
brothers, George Douglass (Elaine) and Gregory Douglass; one sister, Linda
D. Whittaker and a host of other relatives and friends.
