Obituary

DWIGHT MUNFORD was born on February 12, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Robert Long and Elizabeth Irene Saunders. Dwight was one of four boys. Dwight received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He was known-to all as "Day Day" and to his great niece and nephew as "Uncle Grandpa". He was known for his charisma, sense of humor, and witty remarks. Dwight was always in good spirits. Every time you saw him he had a smile on his face and a story to tell. Dwight was a hands-on person and enjoyed working in the carpentry and home improvement field. He always had a suggestion or what he referred to as "advice" on how he could have done it better! Dwight loved music and dancing which was his all-time favorite. In the early 80's, Dwight danced with the Odell's Dancers and then with the Genvenchy Dancers. Dwight loved his family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for children. Although he never had children, you would have thought otherwise. He adored his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He never missed a graduation, cookout, or birthday party and if he wasn't cooking on the grill, he was sliding across the dance floor. He was indeed the life of the party! DWight enjoyed spending the holidays with his family. Every holiday when you heard a knock on the door early in the morning, you knew it was "Uncle Day Day" with his overnight bag. As he would say, "I love my family"! DWight gave his life to Christ and along the way he fellowshipped at several churches. At the time of his passing, Dwight was an active member of "Saving Souls Assembly of Jesus Christ Church". DWight leaves to mourn: his brother, Bryant Munford; three nieces, Melanie and Patrice Munford and Taevonnda Allen; five great nieces and nephews, Joshua, [ayla, Jordan, Dontaze and Da' sha: three aunts, Joyce Alexander, Dorothy and Roberta Scott; an uncle, Ronald Scott; four cousins, Izel, Cheryl, Ronald and Tyra Scott; two sisters-in-law, Edna and Regina Munford; and a host of other relatives and friends.
