Jr.

Earl Smith] r.,
the only son of the late Earl Smith, Sr. and
the late Shirley Elaine Smith, was born on December 17, 1948 in
Bahimore, Maryland. He departed this life on February 21,2019.
Earl was renamed Bobby by his sister, Gloria, which was her
version of ''brother''. Bobby graduated from Catonsville Senior
High School in 1966. He joined the Marines in 1968 where he
served in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart.
When he returned from Vietnam, Bobby began working at the
United States Post Office. He retired from USPS in 2006. Bobby
also worked in Security at the Naval Academy. He belonged to
many organizations, his favorite being the American Legion.

wasn't home, everyone knew to check the Legion
Bobby enjoyed music, riding his bike and spending time with
friends and family. He loved to take trips and enjoyed tennis and
studied karate. It was his mission that his nephews and nieces
would learn at least one karate stance and how to play tennis.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Kelly Nicole
Asbury.
Bobby will be sorely missed and is survived by his sisters: Gloria
Mobley (Mark) and Beverly Reynolds, nephews and nieces
Kenneth Cherry, Theresa Cherry-Carter (Harvey), Tyrone
Reynolds, Mark Cherry (Julita) and Jaime Cherry-Harris
(Jonathan), 13 great nieces and nephews, 1 great-great nephew and
1 great-great niece, special cousins Joan Little and family and a
host of relatives and friends.
