Kearney
December 4, 1923 – October 12, 2018
God called horne our beloved Earnestine Kearney on Friday,
.October 12, 2018. She was born on December 4, 1923 in
Louisburg, North Carolina to James Winfred and Paralee
Yarborough.
She joined Rocky Chapel Baptist Church at an early age.
After arriving in Baltimore, she was a member of Mt. Sinai
Baptist Church.
Earnestine married her only love, James B. Kearney and
they were blessed with seven children.
Earnestine graduated from Franklin County Training School in
Louisburg, North Carolina in 1949. She moved from Louisburg,
NC to Baltimore, MD in 1951, and was employed by John
Hopkins Hospital as a Nurse's Aide. She loved people and had a
strong desire to help those in' need. Earnestine spent her last
working years as a Horne Health Nurse. traveling around
different parts of Baltimore caring for home-bound
patients with medical needs.
Earnestine was a loving and caring mother, sister and friend
with a: warm heart and a quick wit. Though faced with
numerous negative challenges in life including the death of
family members, she never complained about anything.
Earnestine lived her life with determination and refused
to ever give up. Some of her greatest joys were playing
garnes, ask/answering riddles and reminiscing about family
life in North Carolina.Earnestine mentioned many times that
she was ready to go horne whenever God wanted her and on
one Friday afternoon He decided to bring her horne.
Preceding her in death was her husband James, sons Kim,
Dwayne and Gregory and daughters Gail Ellerbe and Doris.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter Regina
(Cedric) Stell; one son Timothy; one brother A von (Elaine)
Yarborough; one half sister Maxine Battle and numerous grand
and great grandchildren, meces, nephews and cousins.
