Obituary

Edna Louise Gaines- was born September 23, 1943 in Halifax, VA and raised in Baltimore, Md. The daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Daniel and James Tune departed this life Tuesday, October 9, 2012 following a long struggle with cancer. She was known to other as Bay/Granny as was a mother and grandmother to everyone. She raised and cared for more children than she conceived. She devoted most of her life caring for others including her siblings, friends, and most importantly her three grandchildren. She was a good and kindhearted person. She loved the Lord and the teachings of the Bible. When she was coming up she loved to hang out in the Royal Theater with the live famous acts. Most people thought she would grow up to be a singer or hair stylist. Granny loved to cook and prided herself on keeping a clean house and looking good in her size five and fiery red hair. She always liked to dance, sing, and shop and loved reading her novels! Edna received her education in the Baltimore City School System. She worked for Lisky Aluminum in Elkridge, MD. She was strong as an ox and a fighter and you didn't want to get one her bad side! Despite all the struggles and adversities, granny always found a way to survive. She wasn't famous nor fortunate enough "on an international level" to receive the attention of the news. However, she was famous in her family and community and we are so fortunate to have had her in our lives. She was preceded in her home going, by her only daughter Terri Gaines who she loved very dearly, Grandmother Edna Louise Tune, mother Mary Elizabeth Daniel, and father James Tune beloved sisters Delores Stewart, Valerie McClain, Evelyn Tune and brother Lynwood Daniels. She leaves to cherish her memories; Grandchildren; Lakeica, Nakia, Dominic Ruffin and granddaughter-in-law Shawnieve Foster, grandson-in-law Vacshon Brown. Her sister Barbara Ann Williams, brother, John Tune, Sr., sister-in-law Rachnee Tune and brother-in-law, Wilmer Stewart. Twelve great-grandchildren, Gerard, Quashawn, Quinnaya, William, Ke'Asis, Ki'Jah, Gerral, Vacshon, Logan, DeShawn, Daisha, and Domonic. Four great-great-grandchildren, Ti'Jae, Katelynn, Anaya and Gerard, Jr., and a host of family and friends.
