Edna E. Smith, affectionately known as "Miss Peanut," daughter of the late Alvin M. and Edna M. Smith, was born September 17, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland. Edna departed this life Thursday evening, May 7, 2009. Edna attended the Baltimore City Public Schools. She worked several different jobs before retiring from St. Agnes Hospital. For a while she served as PTA President at Harlem Park Middle School and was a mother to all in the Harlem Park Community. Edna liked going to church and listening to WRBS radio station. She found a church home at New Song Community Church in June 2006. Edna later becme a member of the Trustee Board. Edna ws a devoted mother. She loved spending time with family. She had a great sense of humor and one of the nicest people you could ever known. Her favorite pastime was taking short bus trips, family outings and attending church functions. Preceding her in death were two brothers, Alvin and Lloyd Smith and son Rodney Smith. Edna leaves to cherish and treasure her memory; three daughters, Daphne Turpin, Valerie and Pamela Smith; seventeen grandchildren, eight great-grand cildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
