Obituary

Edward Lee Kiley was born January 26, 1 942, to Henry S. Kiley and Maybelle Bradford in Baltimore, Maryland.

Edward loss his mother when he was 1 2 years of age. His learning early in lite was through repetition or rote memorization. With fortitude and faith this method served him well. He learned to recite The Lord's Prayer. He learned how to take care of himself and to function in society.

Edward developed a relationship with God and Jesus Christ that sustained him. He attended a number of churches in his lifetime: The Pentecostal Church of Deliverance Ministries on Harford Rd, Pastor Marie Brice. The former Wildwood Parkway UMC in Edmondson Village, Pastor G. Stansbury. There he worked in the Bread of Life Out reach Ministry, a feeding program. He enjoyed helping people. Edward's smile and gentle nature endeared him to everyone he met.

Family was important to Edward. He made it his business to keep up with siblings through his mother's marriage. He would also use newspapers to locate other siblings. Through talking with aunts and other relatives, to gather oral histories, he found another sibling in New York.

He was the proud father of three daughters, who received formal education. In his role as a father he taught them how to protect themselves. He taught them how to ride the bus and to get the transfer slip punched. He occasionally took them to work with him at Mondawmin Mall, so they were learning a work ethic early in lite.

Edward held a variety of jobs. He was caregiver to 3-4 elderly people, who did not have families to take care of them. He learned firsthand how hard Dialysis was on the body through the care of people.

Edward's efforts to locate his siblings were not in vain. One sister became his caregiver tor 24 yrs. It was especially touching three of his brothers were at his side through his brief illness; They ministered to him.

Edward believed in eternal life; therefore, he would not want his family to mourn or be sad, rather to celebrate a life well lived. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters Charisse Fletcher (Kevin) and Octavia Ford (Darrell). Chante' Kiley Washington preceded him in death and spouse Russell. Grandchildren: Jerome Croswell, III (Chloe'), Au'Sha Washington, Malik Conway, Lawrence Howell 3rd, and Lauren Bell. Edward leaves a legacy of family to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
